            Dave Bagley made a motion, seconded by Stan Hepler to accept the minutes as distributed.

 

III.       Officers’ and Director’s Reports

Thanked Breakneck Beagle Club for holding a successful trial and sponsors: Purina, Tri-Tonics, Houndwork Beagle Magazine, Hounds and Hunting Beagle Magazine.  AKC rep, Jim Odle was present and thanked as well.

b.      Eastern Vice President                                                Mark Malloy

Thanked members for attending trial this weekend. 

c.       Western Vice President                                              Gary DeFoor

Gary DeFoor mentioned the 2007 trial schedule which PBGA will anticipate approval from AKC.  Please see Gary for suggestions.    

d.      Secretary                                                                     Jared Shade

e.       Treasurer’s Report                                                       Dave Sharer

Dave Sharer offered attached Treasurers report. 

                        Terry Percouple made a motion to pay the bills.  All were in favor. 

f.       Director of Communications                                      Tina Grim

IV.             Committee Reports

a.       Political Awareness:                                                    Tina Grim, John Gibble, Kelly Durkin

Tina distributed upcoming election information.  PAWS legislation is currently a dead issue. 

b.      Show Seminars                                                           Cathy Stewart/Ginny Conrad

No report was offered.  Cathy and Ginny were not in attendance. 

c.       Hall of Fame Exhibit                                                  Dave Sharer

Updates have been made.  Travel accommodations for Dunnstown will be made. 

      e.   Banquet (2007)                                                           Tina Grim & Dave Sharer

Banquet will be held January 13th at Dunnstown Fire Hall.  Award winners attendance was suggested free attendance.  RSVP’s would be helpful. 

      f.    Directory (2007)                                                         Tina Grim

Tina offered no report.  Tina asked for a volunteer to assist in this process.  This is a valuable asset to the PBGA as a method of communication.  Those interested should see Tina upon completion of meeting.

Website updates require timely reports from PBGA beagle clubs.  Please write legible for calculations to Sara Sharer.  Updates to website will be made timely after results are received.  Tina thanked Sara for her time dedicated to the consistency.

V.        Old Business

            a.         Shamokin Beagle Club                                               Sam Lauchman

Attached By-Law Proposal was reviewed by delegates in attendance.  A motion to accept the By-Law change was made by Stan Hepler and seconded by Ed Valentine.  Motion passed. 

The roll call vote was unanimously in approval of Shamokin’s acceptance into the PBGA.  Shamokin is approved as a PBGA member club.

b.         Trial Schedule                                                             Gary DeFoor

Shamokin will require dates for Derby and All-Age.  Shamokin should have dates to Gary ASAP.    A PBGA member club’s second license trial date will not be published on PBGA trial schedule if not approved prior to last year.  Two Couple Pack hunt test will not be published on PBGA trial schedule.  Clubs are recommended to respect one another when scheduling second licensed trials.  Changes verbally noted at meeting: Sharpsville is a Purina High Points trial.  Susquehanna trials are three day events.  Monroe’s trial is a Purina High Points trial.  Oil Creek is now a one day trial.   Gary will make changes to final schedule. 

            c.         PBGA Raffle                                                              Sam Lauchman

Rick Merkel has done an excellent job chairing this raffle however is no longer interested in chairing the raffle.  PBGA is requesting a Chairperson for this event.  Mark Malloy and Jared Shade will co-chair the raffle.  The raffle is dependant on each club selling the Tri-Tronics raffle tickets for prizes of Championship and consistency events. 

            d.         Consistency Award                                                    Dave & Sara Sharer

Male results were given prior to meeting.  Please be legible with handwriting.  Top 4 prizes are now offered.  PBGA delegates were in favor of additional prizes for 4 top prizes.  Todd Seitz suggested giving an overall prize for top consistency winner among all four classes. 

e.         Hall of Fame Nominations                                          Sam Lauchman

                        One person and three hounds have been nominated.  Please meet December 1st deadline. 

            f.          Apprentice Judging Seminar                                       Rick Merkel

                        No report was offered. 

 

VI.       New Business

            a.         Purina & the PBGA                                                    Tina Grim/Mike Luchetta

The PBGA recommends holding Purina High Points trial events.  Purina will send a case of judges books to January meeting. 

b.         Dog Food Supplier: 2007                                           Sam Lauchman

Purina has been an asset to the PBGA.  Charlie Flexer made a motion seconded by Gary DeFoor to keep Purina as our dog food sponsor.  PBGA delegates approved. 

c.         NEBGF/BAC Info                                                     Gary DeFoor

Gary DeFoor is our new BAC representative.  Please feel free to call hound number and name during roll call at field trials.  The AKC will be changing their trial application form to offer rabbit and hare for SPO trials.  Minutes are available online and in Hounds and Hunting. 

 

d.         Junior Handling Program/ Annual Club Dues            Dave Sharer

Dave Sharer reported PBGA made a $200 donation to this program.  John Yagielinski seconded Josh herring made the motion to make the $200 donation annually.  PBGA delegates approved.  Please be sure club annual dues are paid at January meeting. 

e.         All-Age/ Derby Championship Trial                                       Sam Lauchman

            All-Age Championship trial will be held at Lebanon Beagle Club. 

Derby Championship options are as follow: Pucketos, Conemaugh Valley, Sharpsville.  Pucketos agreed to host the trial.

d.         By Law Committee                                                    Need Chairperson

Sam suggested forming a committee to work on making suggestions and updates to PBGA By-Laws.  Mark Malloy will chair person.  Charlie Flexer, Gary Keller, Todd Seitz will serve on the committee. 

 

Running Rules clarification on eligibility for Field Champions at All-Age championship.  AKC policy is the class where hound receives third win.  If PBGA adopts AKC rule, field champions would not require measuring at PBGA Qualifiers. 

 

Al West made a motion seconded by Mike Johnson to adopt AKC policy for both PBGA Championship events and PBGA Qualifying trials.  PBGA delegates were all in favor of motion.  This will require a by law change which will require a mailing and voting at our January meeting. 

f.          Marshall Sparks                                                           Sam Lachman/Mark Malloy

Marshall Sparks was banned for five years from PBGA in 2000.  Marshall has requested to be reinstated into PBGA via letter.  Mark Malloy read letter aloud.  Tina offered history on Marshall Sparks which stated he withheld $1,200.60 of funds from the PBGA.  He was then banned from the PBGA for five years.   Charlie Flexer suggested researching his previous year’s history to report in January.  Charlie Flexer made a motion seconded by John Yagielinski to put an investigative committee together to provide findings in January.  The delegates were on favor committee.  Charlie and John Yagielinski previous motion was rescinded after further discussion.  PBGA conducted a roll-call vote: 14 NO, 1 YES which made the 2/3 requirement.  Marshall Sparks will not be reinstated.    

g.         Election of Officers                                                    Sam Lauchman

President (1 year term)

            Sam Lauchman declined re-election. 

            Jared Shade elected President.

EVP (2 year term)

            Mark Malloy continued term as EVP.

Director of Communications (2 year term)

            Tina Grim declined re-election

            Josh Herring elected Director of Communications.

Directors (1 east and 1 west for one year terms)

            Charlie Flexer (East) and Kevin McEwen (west) elected as Directors. 

h.                  Other New Business

Mike Johnson and Tina Grim made a motion to adjourn.
