President Jared
Shade called the meeting to order. All
officers were present.
II.
APPROVEL OF
MINUTES – President Shade asked for approval of the
OFFICERS AND
DIRECTOR’S REPORT
a. President - President Jared Shade welcomed all to the
meeting. He also
thanked the Shamokin Beagle Club for hosting this meeting.
b. Eastern Vice-President - Mark Malloy welcomed all to the meeting.
c. Western Vice-President – Gary DeFoor related that the
PBGA Field Trial Schedule should be out by
the October meeting.
d. Secretary’s Report – Nothing to report
e. Treasurer’s Report - Dave Sharer reported that the starting
Income for the PBGA was $6,364.70. Total income was $5,435.00. Total Expenses
- $4,830.00. Ending balance as of May 31, 2008 was $6969.70. Motion to accept Treasurer’s report was made by Jim Roush and Stan Hepler. Motion passed.

Grim thanked Dave and Sara Sharer for
their help with the consistency points.

COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Political
Awareness - John Gibble reported that
there will be a meeting on June 23rd for the Houdsmen
at the Game Commission. He also updated the status of HB 2525. He would like the Clubs to keep the pressure on their
Representatives. Also, if you have any communication with the AKC, to also ask for
their support to change HB2525. Tina Grim thanked Wanda and John Borsa and John Gibble for all their work on this Bill.
SHOW SEMINAR
– If anyone is interested in either
the East or West for Show Seminars, please contact Tina Grim.
HALL
OF FAME – President Shade would like
nominations by the
October meeting
2009
BANQUET – A $100.00 deposit was left with the Grotto for the
2009 Banquet as well as with the same
caterer. The Banquet will be
held the Second Saturday in January (
DIRECTORY
2009 – There was a late start of the
2008 directory.
The
directories are here to be distributed.
Cost is $2.00/piece. Discussion was held on whether or not to
print the 2009 directory.
Field trial schedule could be printed
out and distributed at trials.
Motion to skip 2009 directory made by
John Gibble and seconded by
Tina Grim. Motion passed.

FIELD
TRIAL COMMITTEE - Gary DeFoor can be reached at his
Cell phone number 814-516-2372. Oil Creek has checked into
changing their August trial date. It
will be changed from August 8
and 9th to August 2nd
and 3rd. Remember to review
the directory and make sure to
let Gary know in order for changes to be made.
BY-LAW
COMMITTEE – Discussion was held on
the Running
Rule Regulations. Charlie Flexer, due
to work commitments, would
like to be replaced on the By-Law
Committee. Jim Roush will take
his place.

ALL
AGE CHAMPIONSHIP- Breakneck will host
this year’s All-
Age Championship. Thanked Lebanon Beagle Club for hosting last
year’s Championship. Selection of Judges is as follows

PBGA RAFFLE
The 2008 Raffle this year will consist of Gift
Certificates to
Mountain. Cost of the ticket will be $5.00 each. Dave Sharer has
Tickets. Clubs will sign for tickets.
NEW
MEMBERSHIP STATUS There was no report on the
Status of Steins Hollow. Cambria Beagle Club will be hosting
an All-Age Qualifier on July 20th. Gary Waters is the contact for the
Club.
CONSISTENCY
AWARD - Sara Sharer was thanked for handling
the consistency points.
DERBY
QUALIFIER - Discussion
was held on whether to hold the
Derby Qualifier trials. Vote was taken and there were 19 yes, 1 no
Vote and 2 abstained. Motion passed to continue holding derby
qualifiers.
RUNNING
RULES - Discussion was held on running rules. Ribbons
are required as per AKC standards Final version to be voted on at
October
meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
NEBGF/BAC UPDATE - Gary
DeFoor reported that there is a
proposal
to change the Gundog Brace Format. The change
will be
that at
21 entries it will go to a trio format.
Currently it is a trio
format
at 30 entries. Also discussed was
splitting classes in Large Pack.
NEBGF – Gary Slick is the new NEBGF
president and was thanked
for all
he has done.
CONTINUING EDUCATION SEMINAR - AKC has
ruled that
an
updated seminar must be attended by all current judges by 2010.
AKC will
provide the seminar for free until 2010, after that there will
be a fee.
PBGA would like to hold a updated seminar before the
Championship
at Breakneck. The seminar lasts
approximately 2-4 hours.
President
Shade to contact the AKC, since the AKC sets the
timeframe. If the seminar cannot be held at Breakneck,
then sometime
in
January would be considered.

July 12
from 8 to 5. Contact Jim Katcho if planning on attending
